Electronic Discovery Seminar
As part of a continuing effort to bring the Ohio legal community essential education, the Columbus Bar Association and the Paralegal Association of Central Ohio are co-sponsoring a special CLE institute focusing on current state of electronic discovery. The September 15th, full day event, “The Changing Landscape of Electronic Discovery” is CLE Easy Pass eligible. Faculty: Douglas Matthews of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, Mason Evans of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP, and Andrew Drake of Nationwide Insurance. Panelists will include Thomas Hill of Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter Co, LPA, David Porter of EDiscover-e, Jeffery Fuller of Battelle, Julie Brown of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, JoAnn Fair of Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Tim Hooks of Chester Willcox & Saxbe, Nicole Randall of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP, and Brian Webb of National Investment Managers Inc.
The event includes topics such as: A look at recent case law and the effect on electronic discovery process; A review of the latest and ESI Filtering and Review Technologies; The rise of Social Networking and “The Cloud”; “Reasonable Inquiry” in The Wake of Qualcomm v. Broadcom; The importance of team communication in controlling the cost and risk of electronic discovery. The final session will be a mock witness examination designed to exemplify some of the perils of performing self-collection.
