Furman Tops 1,000 Miles for Bar Bicycling Team

Members of the Columbus Bar RideNet Team represent a diverse group of individuals from the legal community, all connected by their love of bicycling. While some participants ride for fun, others use two wheels to commute, run errands or challenge their physical endurance. Whatever the motivation, all team members agree that biking is good for the mind, body, wallet and environment.

While all our bikers are logging piles of miles, one rider stands out with over 1,000 miles in 30 days! Sandra Mendel Furman, Columbus Bar member and formerly chair of the ADR committee, was one of the first to join our RideNet team. She has been bicycling for eight years and considers herself a recreational rider. She says it’s hard to pick a favorite ride, but lists Canal Winchester to Bremen; the "big Darby" ride; Carroll to Bremen as top choices.

Why does she ride? “I love being outside in most kinds of weather. When I ride out in the country roads, I really enjoy seeing the countryside and animals. Central and southeastern Ohio are beautiful. This activity is a real joy to me. I can’t believe that I am able to do this at no or almost no cost, it's great for my health, great for the environment and I have made really wonderful friends.”
