Institute on Domestic Violence and Child Custody

Custody cases involving domestic violence present unique challenges for attorneys, judges, GALS and other professionals charged with decision-making in these cases.

The Columbus Bar will host an advanced CLE institute featuring national trainers from the Battered Women’s Justice Project and faculty from the William Mitchell College of Law, who are involved in a national demonstration project funded by the Office on Violence Against Women at the US Department of Justice.

During the 4.0 CLE hour institute on August 25, participants will gain information and strategies to more effectively protect the safety and wellbeing of children and their parents in the family court system by crafting a more practical framework for identifying, understanding and accounting for the contexts and implications of domestic violence in custody arrangements and parenting plans.

This institute is co-sponsored by Ohio Domestic Violence Network. To register visit www.cbalaw.org/cle or call 614/221.4112. Event # 110825DR. Pre-registration fees: M $150; NM $210; Non-attorney $110; LAV attorney $100. Lunch is included in the price of registration. Fees increase for day-of registrations.
