LGBT Committee Co-Sponsors TransOhio Symposium
The Columbus Bar Association LGBT Committee again joins TransOhio’s Transgender and Ally Symposium for continuing legal education, August 5. Members Tara McKenzie Allison and Mellissia Fuhrmann of the Justice League of Ohio will present on issues of employment and crime victims’ rights, focusing on the impact for the transgender community. They are joined by Toledo attorney Cindy Kirby who will discuss same-sex partners custody and visitation rights. Each topic represents 1.0 CLE hour, and provides excellent information for attorneys working with LGBT clients.
TransOhio, a non-profit organization, is Ohio’s only statewide Transgender advocacy and community agency. This year’s symposium will be hosted on the Ohio State campus and will feature over 70 workshops and seminars from local and nationally recognized presenters.
CLE presentations will be taking place during the symposium’s Provider Day, on Friday, August 5, at OSU’s Union hall. For pricing, registration and to view a full list of Provider Day presenters and workshops, visit http://transohio.wordpress.com/providers-day/.
