Sowald Installed as Foundation President
Columbus Bar Foundation President Ford Huffman and Association President David Bloomfield welcomed the Fellows and friends to the Foundation’s Annual Meeting on June 14.
Heather Sowald was sworn in as the new president by Judge Carrie Glaeden.
Ohio Supreme Court Justice Yvette McGee Brown received the President’s Award from retiring president Ford Huffman for her many years of community support through her work at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center Child and Family Advocacy and the Foundation.
President Huffman thanked retiring Foundation Counsel Mike Mahoney for his six years of service.
Michael Gire was elected as a Trustee by the Fellows in attendance for his first three-year term. Also elected for another term were Stanley Ross, Robert Weiler and Jay Yano. Other Foundation officers are David Alexander, Vice President; Robert Meyer, Secretary/ Treasurer; and Ford Huffman as Immediate Past President. Other Trustees are James Arnold, Belinda Barnes, Stephen Buchenroth, Michael Carpenter, Sharon Chappelear, James Davidson, Paul Giorgianni, Judge Carrie Glaeden, Thomas Hill, Robert Palmer, Judge Guy Reece. Two of the CBA liaisons to the Board are Judge Stephen McIntosh and Magistrate Mark Petrucci. A third liaison is to be named. Past President Frank Ray has retired from the board.
