UDSL Looking for a Few Good Attorneys

University of Dayton Law School Externship Faculty is asking for attorneys and judges to serve as speed interviewers during an externship class on Monday, June 13 from 10:30-11:45am at UDSL in Room 120.

Speed interviews help externship students develop and improve their interviewing, communication, and networking skills. Given today’s legal economy, solid work experience, an impressive resume and strong interviewing skills are more important than ever. Many students are now contemplating nontraditional
legal careers in addition to jobs with law firms, judges, and inhouse counsel.

Interview Format: Each interviewer will have 3-4 interviews with students. These interviews are for practice purposes only (you are not expected to offer students a job or to follow up with them). At the beginning of each interview, the student will hand you his or her resume. Interviewers will conduct the interview for
10 minutes as if the student is interviewing for a job with your office. At the end of each interview, you will have several minutes to offer constructive critique to the student about what they did well and what could be improved (this is the most significant part of the exercise). Many students have appreciated the frank and honest feedback they received from past speed interviewers as it helped them understand why or why not they were getting callback interviews.

If you are able to help out on June 13, contact Monique B. Lampke, Lecturer of Law and Externship Faculty, UDSL, monique.lampke@notes.udayton.edu, or call 937.229.4660. Secure a parking pass and directions by email.
