Ten members of the Columbus Bar selected to run for the Board of Governors and two candidates for the office of secretary/treasurer have been recommended by the 2011 Nominations & Elections committee chaired by Immediate Past President Elizabeth J. Watters.
Other members of the nominating committee include Karim A. Ali, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur; Hon. Carrie E. Glaeden, Franklin County Municipal Court; Kristy Swope, Swope & Swope, Attorneys at Law; and David S. Bloomfield, Jr., Columbus Bar president-elect.
On the ballot for officer positions are David S. Bloomfield, Jr., Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, for president; Bradley B. Wrightsel, Wrightsel & Wrightsel, for president-elect; and Kenneth R. Cookson, Kegler Brown Hill & Ritter, and Mark C. Petrucci, magistrate, Franklin County Common Pleas Court, for secretary/treasurer. Only members who have been elected to at least one full term and currently serving on the Board of Governors are eligible nominees for secretary/treasurer.
Candidates nominated for first terms are John M. Alton, the Alton Law Firm; Brigid E. Heid, Carlile Patchen & Murphy; Christopher E. Hogan, Newhouse Prophater Letcher & Moots; LeeAnn M. Massucci, Massucci & Kline; Sandra R. McIntosh, Freund Freeze & Arnold; Lisa Pierce Reisz, Vorys Sater Seymour and Pease; Jameel S. Turner, Bailey Cavalieri; and Bonnie L. Wolf, Frost Brown Todd. Incumbents nominated to run for a second term include Jack A. Guttenberg, Capital University Law School and Gregory M. Travalio, Isaac Brant Ledman & Teetor.
According to Article VI of the Code of Regulations governing nominations and elections for the Board of Governors, additional eligible members may be nominated for a seat on the Board. A petition must be delivered to the Columbus Bar Association no later than noon on Monday, April 25, signed by at least ten voting members of the Columbus Bar whose dues for the current fiscal year are paid.
A link to the ballot will be available at www.cbalaw.org to all voting members of the Association on Wednesday, May 4 and voting will close at noon on Friday, May 13.
