Reinventing Wheels 2 by 2012
Douglas Morgan approached the Columbus Bar Green Initiative Committee, chaired by Robert Meyer and David Scott, to join over 80 Columbus companies and organizations (including Bricker & Eckler, Hahn Loeser & Park, Lane Alton & Horst, Luper Neidenthal & Logan, and Porter Wright Morris & Arthur), to become an early adopter of the 2 by 2012 initiative. The CBA Board approved the request at their January 28 meeting.
At its core, the goal of the initiative is to encourage central Ohio citizens to use bicycles instead of motor vehicles as a mode of transportation twice a month by 2012, the Columbus bicentennial year.
The effort is spearheaded by Consider Biking with a grant from The Columbus Foundation, as well as financial support from a wide range of businesses and individuals.
The Columbus Bar will be scheduling information sessions to help those who want to get involved in the initiative to get started safely. For additional information contact Robert Meyer (614/227.2096) or Marion Smithberger (614/340.2070).
