Looking for Special CLE this Holiday Season? We Have It Wrapped Up!

For the Sports Fan:
“Sports Law Update 2010” presents a favorite theme, the practice of law as it relates to Columbus’s valued sports franchises. Jeffrey R. Chilcoat, President, Sterling Sports Management, shares his perspective as an attorney sports agent. Greg Kirstein, General Counsel, Columbus Blue Jackets, discusses details of representing a sports franchise. James G. Ryan, Bailey Cavalieri, the Columbus Crew’s outside counsel, finishes out the class with insights into our newest professional club - major league soccer. Attend on December 13 from 1:30pm-4:45pm to score 3.0 CLE hours.

For the New Lawyer (and seasoned): core required hours
On December 14, wrap up this year’s New Lawyer Training series with the three things on every new attorney’s list: 1.0 CLE hour of Professionalism, 1.0 CLE hour Client Fund Management, and 1.0 CLE hour of Law Office Management. Presenters are Professionalism Committee Chair Jeffrey W. Hutson, Lane Alton and Horst; Jeffrey Fortkamp, Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation, a seasoned presenter on the topic of client fund management; and Randy Headley, veteran firm administrator of Bailey Cavalieri. This class is also open to the “not-so-new” practitioner as 2.0 general hours and 1.0 hour in professionalism. The seminar runs from 9:00am-12:15pm.

For the Technology Lover: E-Discovery of Mobile Devices - What a Cell Phone Reveals
As cell phones and mobile personal devices serve more and more as highly transportable computers, it is little surprise that an entire realm of case discovery has emerged to collect and analyze the data they contain. This subspecies of electronic or e-discovery will be revealed and demystified here on December 14 from 1:30-4:45pm. Presenting this 3.0 hour CLE is Matt Curtain, founder of Interhack Corporation, professional services for information assurance and forensic computing.

For Those Who Serve: Military Law
Duncan Aukland, Joint Staff Judge Advocate, has organized this 3.0 hour CLE slated for December 16 where he will present on The Servicemembers’ Civil Relief Act and Other Laws of Benefit to Servicemembers. He will be joined by Rob Creel, United States Department of Labor / Veterans Employment and Training Service, who will speak about Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). The program will wrap up with Steve Lynch, Ninth Coast Guard District, sharing information about Unique Legal Protections and Resources for Clients with a “Military Connection."
