Brown, Voinovich Announce Nomination Process

U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and George V. Voinovich (R-OH) announced the start of the process for recommending a candidate to fill the anticipated vacancy on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio following the confirmation of Judge Kate O’Malley, nominated by President Obama in March to serve on U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In the interest of identifying the best candidates for Ohio’s federal bench, two judicial advisory commissions were established in 2009, members appointed by both senators to recommend candidates for positions in the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.

Candidates can request applications by emailing judicial_candidate@brown.senate.gov or by calling 202/224.2315. Seventeen copies of the completed application must be sent to Brown’s Cincinnati office at 425 Walnut Street, Suite 2310, Cincinnati, OH 45202 by the close of business on November 15, 2010.
