Summary of Practice: I've handled 5,000+ cases including estates, probate, guardianships, adoption (including interstate & international adoptions) and surrogacy.

Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I didn't necessarily want to go to law school, but with my parents being from the "old country" (the country of Macedonia or the former Republic of Yugoslavia) furthering education was my family's top concern. My mom used to say, "You have to go further." I'm the first and only lawyer in my family. I was the first to go past the eighth grade. My three siblings and I are first generation of Americans.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
In 1988, I spent a year as a general referee, now known as magistrate, for the Franklin County Probate Court. I later worked as an associate lawyer for four years at the law firm of Isaac Brant Ledman & Becker. Fred Isaac took me under his wing. He was a great mentor in my life.

What made you choose your primary area of law?
The practice of probate is the full cycle of life. It truly is family practice. From adoptions, estate administration, estate litigation, wills, name changes, estate planning and guardianship issues, it is "family law."

Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
In my spare time, I enjoy fishing and hunting. I once was charged by a wild boar in West Virginia. I managed to drop my rifle and climb up a tree. Now that boar's head is mounted in my office. I also hunt wild turkey and deer.

Describe your charitable activities.
I speak to various high schools, doctor's offices, and hospitals regarding the adoption process in the State of Ohio. I also perform free speaking engagements to various retirement homes, hospitals, etc. regarding estate planning.
