Green Committee Views the Process

Members of the Columbus Bar Green Initiative last week toured the Rumpke Recycling Center on Fields Avenue for an up-close look at the art of recycling. Rumpke Recycling is one of the largest recyclers in the Midwest and recycles hundreds of millions of pounds of materials at its eight recycling centers annually. Committee members spent some time in a classroom setting learning about recyclable products, then went on a walking tour of the plant to see the process in action.

The Green Initiative Committee, co-chaired by Robert A. Meyer Jr. and David M. Scott, meets on the third Wednesday of the month and offers a variety of programs throughout the year.
