Judge Brown Hires Two New Magistrates for the Probate Court Team

After a comprehensive interview and selection process that attracted over 50 qualified applicants, Judge Brown has selected two local attorneys to become the new magistrates at the Franklin County Probate Court.

Todd DeBoe will join the Franklin County Probate Court staff on Monday, March 22. Todd has been an assistant attorney general for over ten years and has experience in the health and human services section of that office where he has worked extensively with pro se litigants on cases for the Ohio Medicaid program.

Kelly Green will begin work on Tuesday, March 23. Kelly has worked as a staff attorney in the general division of Franklin County Common Pleas Court for eight years managing a civil litigation docket of over 500 cases, including conducting status conferences and pre-trials for three different judges in the course of her tenure there.

Both new magistrates will attend the New Magistrate Training to help them prepare for their new positions. Fred Meister, who began work as a magistrate in July 2009, will attend the training as well. In addition, Magistrate Benjamin Suffron will be teaching at this year’s training for new magistrates being offered by the Ohio Supreme Court Judicial College March 24-26, 2010.

Franklin County Probate Court is the largest single-judge probate court in the state of Ohio. Judge Eric Brown has served as Probate Court Judge since February 9, 2009.
