Changes in the Code of Regulations

At the membership meeting on November 2, 2009 a modified amendment of Section 2.4 of the Code was offered by the floor. This modified amendment, which passed by a two-thirds majority of those present, includes the following language in (new) Section 2.4 of the Code, and was approved by the Columbus Bar Board of Governors at its meeting on November 20, 2009.

“2.4 Other Duties of Officers and Officers’ Meetings. The Officers of the Association may meet and discuss the business of the Association; set an agenda for the meetings of the Board of Governors; and conduct other business of the Association consistent with their responsibilities as set forth in Article 2. As set forth below, however, the Board of Governors of the Association is responsible for the administration of the affairs of the Association.”

In order to ratify the proposed change, a special meeting of voting members of the Association (as defined in Article III of the Code) will be held on Friday, February 19, 2009 at 11:00am at the CBA offices, 175 S. Third Street, Suite 1100, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Two-thirds of the voting members present at the special meeting must approve the modified amendment to the Code for it to take effect.
