Business Bankruptcy and Taxation
The Taxing Matters Series resumes November 11, 12:15pm to 1:15pm, with a 1.0 CLE hour seminar addressing the tax implications for businesses filing bankruptcy, including bankruptcy alternatives for businesses (i.e., chapters 7, 11 & 13); the business bankruptcy process; the jurisdiction of bankruptcy court versus tax court; payment and dischargeability of tax claims, as well as the reduction of tax attributes and basis.
Presenters are Joseph M. Patchen, Carlile Patchen & Murphy, an experienced Creditors Rights and Bankruptcy attorney; with Necol Russell-Washington of NRW Law Office, co-organizer of the Taxing Matters Series and co-chair of the Business Tax Committee.
