Payroll Taxes - No Longer Just Passing Through

The Business Tax Committee will kick off the 2009-2010 Taxing Matters Series on Wednesday, September 9 from noon to 1:15pm at the Columbus Bar. Guest speakers, David S. Jackson and Christina Peters are presenting a general update on employment taxes, as well as Ohio and federal unemployment tax planning in the light of recent legislation that eliminates flow-through treatment of employment taxes by disregarded entities such as single-member LLCs and qualified subchapter S subsidiaries.

Mr. Jackson, a partner with Carlile Patchen & Murphy, focuses his practice on business planning and pass-through entity taxation for closely-held businesses. Ms. Peters is a partner in tax at Ernst & Young.

This meeting may be attended by Columbus Bar members free of charge.
