Celebrate "Bike to Work" Week with Mayor Coleman and Gordon Gee
CONSIDER BIKING advocates and promotes all types of bicycling. In May, the focus turns to encouraging “Bike to Work” initiatives. Columbus has a growing “Bike to Work Week” movement, thanks to the collective of individuals and groups, who have all thrown great activities into the pot! Check out www.b2ww.org for a listing of events, educational opportunities, and the information on the popular “Commuter Challenge” that will run from May 4-15 this year. It’s easy to sign up your teams, and you’ll even be invited to a celebration lunch on Friday, May 15.
Mayor Coleman & Dr. Gordon Gee will launch a High Street “Share the Road” campaign on Monday, May 11. Join the mayor at 7:45 a.m. at OSU, for a ride down High Street to a kick-off celebration hosted by Consider Biking, 8:30 a.m on the Statehouse lawn. Mayor Coleman, and other community leaders, will make some big announcements, and again demonstrate the commitment to improving accommodations for bicyclists in our community.
