Board of Governors Candidates, 2009-2010

Nine members of the Columbus Bar selected to run for the Board of Governors and two candidates for the office of secretary/treasurer have been recommended by the Nominations & Elections committee chaired by Past President Nelson E Genshaft.

Other members of the nominating committee include Kevin R. McDermott, Schottenstein Zox & Dunn; Sandra R. McIntosh, Freund Freeze & Arnold; Denise Mirman, Friedman & Mirman; and Hon. Stephen L. McIntosh, Columbus Bar secretary/treasurer.

On the ballot for officer positions are Elizabeth J. Watters, Chester Willcox & Saxbe for president; Hon. Stephen L. McIntosh, Franklin County Common Pleas Court judge for president-elect; and David S. Bloomfield, Jr., Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, and Mark C. Petrucci, magistrate, Franklin County Common Pleas Court, for secretary/treasurer. Only members who have been elected to at least one full term and currently serving on the Board of Governors are eligible nominees for secretary/treasurer.

Candidates nominated for first terms are Aaron L. Granger, Schottenstein Zox & Dunn; Jack A. Guttenberg, dean of Capital University Law School; Sandra R. McIntosh, Freund Freeze & Arnold; Gregory M. Travalio, Isaac Brant Ledman & Teetor who served one term on the Board from 2004-2006; James P. (Jamie) Tyack, Tyack Blackmore & Liston; and James A. (Jamie) Zitesman, Law Offices of James A. Zitesman. Incumbents nominated to run for a second term include Kenneth R. Cookson, Kegler Brown Hill & Ritter; Dawn Rae Hays, Hahn Loeser + Parks; and Anthony M. Sharett, Bricker & Eckler.

According to Article VI of the Code of Regulations governing nominations and elections for the Board of Governors, additional eligible members may be nominated for a seat on the Board. A petition must be delivered to the Columbus Bar Association no later than noon on Monday, April 27, signed by at least ten voting members of the Columbus Bar whose dues for the current fiscal year are paid.

A link to the ballot will be available at www.cbalaw.org to all voting members of the Association on Friday, May 1 and voting will close at noon on Friday, May 15.
