Employment Taxes: Steering Clear of the Pitfalls
David S. Jackson is the presenter at the next in the series of Taxing Matters, Wednesday, February 11, noon to 1:15 p.m. at the Columbus Bar. He will provide practitioners with an update on the regulations and case law developments distinguishing employees from independent contractors; new developments concerning employment tax reporting for single-member limited liability companies; and identifying when LLCs need to obtain federal tax identification numbers, how to complete the updated IRS Form SS-4, and submit such form online.
Mr. Jackson is a partner with Carlile Patchen & Murphy and his practice focuses on business planning and pass-through entity taxation for closely-held businesses. He has been published in law journals and business publications and is a frequent speaker before practitioners and the business community on a variety of business and taxation topics.
