Poll Workers Sought
More than 5,000 workers are needed to operate the polls on Election Day in Franklin County. The Board of Elections is presently searching for poll workers to staff the Nov. 4, 2008 general election. Detail-oriented professionals from organizations such as yours are needed!
The Champions of Democracy program has recruited and trained hundreds of Franklin County poll workers since 2004. To serve, you must:
- Be a registered Franklin County Voter
- Have transportation to the polls
- Attend a three hour training course
- Work from 5:30 a.m. to at least 8 p.m. on Election Day
Help is needed. Employers can participate by releasing selected employees to take a day for democracy to work the polls. By doing so, you will receive: Public recognition of your organization’s contribution; a training class conducted at the location of your choice if 20 or more individuals participate.
Poll workers are paid at least $123.00 to cover training and Election Day Service. Others in supervisory capacities earn more.
To register, call the Franklin County Board of Elections at 614/462.5393 or apply online at http://vote.franklincountyohio/boe.
