In Remembrance
William Joseph "Bill" Melvin, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2008. He was born January 29, 1924. Bill served his country as a Staff Sargeant in the US Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946, where his buddies nicknamed him "Bosco." Following his service in the Pacific, Bill completed his education, earning a BS at Ohio State and his LLB from Franklin University. He was a practicing trial attorney for over 50 years, serving as a Senior Asst. City Attorney for the City of Columbus during the 1960's as well as many years in private practice. He concluded his career in May of this year as counsel to the firm of Ward Kaps Bainbridge Maurer & Melvin. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Louise (Conlon), their six children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
