New Lawyer CLE and Soiree
One of the biggest challenges you face as a “young” lawyer is dealing with the many personalities you encounter in the legal profession. You’re expected to know how to present yourself and communicate effectively with others in many functional areas of the law -- people in roles as divergent as your managing partner to your favorite judge’s bailiff.
The Columbus Bar New Lawyer Committee invites you to attend "You’re a Young Lawyer…Now What? Dealing with the Many Personalities of the Legal Profession” on September 16. During this 3.0 CLE hour seminar, a panel of seasoned attorneys will share their insights into how to handle the demands associated with multiple partners and supervisors, as well as working effectively with administrative staff. A panel of judges will provide an introduction to effective communication at the courthouse.
Panelists James L. Ervin, Jr., David L. Johnson, Richard C. Simpson, Dawn Rae Grauel, Rasheeda Z. Khan, Hon. Richard A. Frye, Hon. Stephen L. McIntosh, and Hon. Patrick E. Sheeran will provide communication tips and tricks that could prove invaluable in ensuring your success and professional reputation as an attorney.
Stick after the program for the annual New Lawyer Committee Kick Off Happy Hour. There will be food, beverages and plenty of time to network and socialize. Happy Hour will begin immediately following the conclusion of the seminar at 4:45 p.m. and will run until 6:45 p.m. Join us as we begin another year of New Lawyer activities. Happy Hour is free and you don’t have to attend the CLE program to attend the happy hour, but to ensure plenty of food and beverages, RSVP to Holly Canterucci, holly@cbalaw.org, no later than September 12.
Register online for the CLE, or call 614/221.4112 for event #NL080916. Member cost is $105 prepaid/$120 day-of, non-member cost is $150 prepaid/$165 day-of, and non-attorney cost is $75 prepaid/$90 day-of.
