An Invitation from the Franklin County Board of Elections
More than 5,000 poll workers are needed in Franklin County for Nov. 4, 2008 when voters go to the polls to elect our next president and decide critical local issues, as well. A record turnout is likely. We’ll need as many accomplished professionals as possible to help us do to this important job. We invite members of the Columbus Bar to join us.
The requirements:
Be a U.S. citizen and registered to vote in Franklin County; Attend a three hour training course
offered during October; Have transportation to the polls Work from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Poll workers earn a minimum of $123.00 ($108.00 for Election Day service and $15.00 for training.) If you want to participate, call the Franklin County Board of Elections at (614) 462-5393 or register online at http://vote.franklincountyohio.gov/boe by Oct. 6, 2008.
We urge you to vote absentee beginning Sept. 30 if you plan to work the polls since you might not be stationed in your own precinct on Election Day.
