WLFC holds Annual Meeting, announces new officers

The 2008 Annual Meeting of Women Lawyers of Franklin County will take place May 21 at the Columbus Bar offices. A silent auction benefiting the WLFC scholarship fund will start the event at 11:30 a.m., and bidding will continue until the main program and lunch begins at noon.

The business meeting will include the awarding of the scholarships, the election and swearing in of officers, and the approval of changes to the Bylaws. The officers to be elected are President-Elect, Sandra McIntosh; Secretary, Lara Bertsch; Treasurer, Julie Smith; and Trustees-At-Large, Karen Held Phipps and Eleana Drakatos. The current president-elect, Janica Pierce, will automatically succeed to the role of president.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the WLFC scholarship fund, please send a check made payable to the Columbus Bar Foundation and indicate in your cover letter or on the memo line the purpose of your donation. In addition to the business meeting, WLFC is pleased to present a panel of past presidents who will offer a glimpse of WLFC’s past, present, and future—and discuss what they have achieved since their terms of office and where they are now.

There is no fee for members to attend the annual meeting and luncheon. However, please RSVP to President Sue Kenney-Pfalzer at skplaw@sbcglobal.net so an accurate count can be determined. If you are not a currently a member, you can still join by downloading the membership application from the web site at www.wlfc.ws and submitting it to Membership Chair, Lara Bertsch.
