2008-09 Board of Governors candidates

Nine members of the Columbus Bar selected to run for the Board of Governors and two candidates for the office of secretary/treasurer have been recommended by the Nominations & Elections committee chaired by Past President Belinda S. Barnes.
 
Other members of the nominating committee include Jack A. Guttenberg, dean of Capital University Law School; Jayme P. Smoot, Minority Deputy Chief of Staff, Ohio Senate; James A. Zitesman, Law Offices of James A. Zitesman; and Elizabeth J. Watters, Columbus Bar secretary/treasurer.
 
On the ballot for officer positions are Kathleen M. Trafford, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, for president; Elizabeth J. Watters, Chester Willcox & Saxbe, for president-elect; and Hon. Stephen L. McIntosh, judge, Franklin County Common Pleas Court judge and Mark C. Petrucci, magistrate, Franklin County Common Pleas Court, for secretary/treasurer. Only members who have been elected to at least one full term and currently serving on the Board of Governors are eligible nominees for secretary/treasurer.
 
Candidates nominated for first terms are Jennifer A. Adair, Assistant Attorney General, Ohio Attorney General Health & Human Services; Samuel A. Peppers, III, Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs; James E. Phillips, Vorys Sater Seymour and Pease; Rosemary E. Pomeroy, Law Offices of Rosemary Ebner Pomeroy; Keith W. Schneider, Maguire & Schneider; and Kerstin Sjoberg-Witt, Jones Days. Incumbents nominated to run for a second term include David S. Bloomfield, Jr., Porter Wright Morris & Arthur; David T. Patterson, Weston Hurd Curley Patterson & Bush and Bradley B. Wrightsel, Wrightsel & Wrightsel.
 
According to Article VI of the Code of Regulations governing nominations and elections for the Board of Governors, additional eligible members may be nominated for a seat on the Board. A petition must be delivered to the Columbus Bar Association no later than noon on Monday, April 28, signed by at least ten voting members of the Columbus Bar whose dues for the current fiscal year are paid.
 
Ballots will be mailed to all voting members of the Association on May 2 and must be returned by noon on May 16.
