Columbus Citizenship Day - April 19
Volunteer immigration attorneys, paralegals, interpreters and other community members will staff a single-day workshop to provide assistance to lawful permanent residents eligible for naturalization. This is the second year that local chapters of AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association) have held “citizenship drives” across the country. Last year 1,700 clients were assisted by 350 attorneys and 500 non-attorney volunteers.
In Columbus, local attorneys and other volunteers will be available to help prepare naturalization applications for those who are eligible, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Economic and Community Development Institute located at 475 East Mound Street.
