Get to know lawyers from LiamLaw.com

Nancy Sponseller

Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I have a deep desire to help people. If someone has a problem, I want to solve it. This is still what "drives" me and gives me my life's purpose.

What experiences help you to be a better attorney?
I now have over 25 years experience as an attorney. Experience counts. The experience from each past case becomes a building block that I bring to the next new client's case. It is not always what can be done, but what should be done.

What made you choose your primary area of law?
My family law and probate and estate planning practice gives me a tremendous opportunity to help a client come through what may be the worst period in his/her life, dealing with some of the most difficult of life's issues, to a new beginning point.

What makes your law firm unique?
I am blessed to have a legal assistant who, during her 12 years in my employment, has demonstrated over and over again her own commitment to bring to each client matter her own concern, care, and the highest standards of professionalism any lawyer could have in a legal assistant.

Describe your ideal client.
My ideal client is one who takes my advice. It may not always be what the client wanted or hoped to hear, but he or she knows that the advice is based on reality and is what they need to hear and apply in order to move forward to a resolution of their matter. In probate administration matters, clients sometimes have little, if any, idea as to what will be involved, and it is always rewarding to see the administration proceed through to a timely conclusion.

Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I love my dogs and helping find homes for rescued dogs. I am active in my church, Upper Arlington Lutheran Church (attending at Mill Run, Hilliard), and church has always been an important part of my growth in my Christian faith.
