Sacred diversity and religion-related legal issues
The Labor and Employment Committee will host a panel discussion of religion-related legal issues that arise in the workplace, February 6, noon to 1 p.m. Dianne Einstein of Einstein & Poling and David T. Ball of Schottenstein Zox and Dunn will present employee-side and management-side perspectives, respectively, on issues ranging from pro-life pharmacists who object to dispensing prescriptions for the morning-after pill, to pacifist machinists who object to manufacturing munitions, to employees who proselytize their co-workers, to employees who object to being "preached at" while at work.
In addition, Jennifer Nimer, Legal Director of the Ohio Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, will discuss specific issues that tend to arise relating to Islam and Muslim employees. Please plan to attend this timely presentation on religion-related legal issues that seem to be arising with increasing frequency in our diverse community.
