Meet the New Lawyer Chair, Sandy McIntosh

If you don’t already know Sandy McIntosh, the Columbus Bar is pleased to introduce her as the chair of the New Lawyers Committee. In addition to a busy litigation practice with Freund Freeze & Arnold, she has taken on the challenges of this important volunteer position with her usual enthusiasm and energy.

Sandy’s decision to be responsible for the large and diverse committee comes from her desire that members of the committee have the same positive experiences she has had. Recalling her first interactions with the committee four years ago, she knows that a warm welcome and friendly faces helped her get over her apprehensions about being a brand new attorney and building the confidence she needed to grow positive professional relationships.

Her professional philosophy is that she can do more for her clients through hard work and building good relationships with colleagues than she can by being adversarial and uncooperative. With that perspective, she views new attorneys as friends and colleagues she will practice with over the coming years. The relationships she has built through the Columbus Bar, her trial work and other activities have made her career and life richer.

Sandy said she hopes to introduce brand new lawyers to current committee members who have become her friends and respected colleagues over the years, and to help attorneys join into and build other groups within the Columbus Bar.

The Columbus Bar looks forward to a year of events and programs for new lawyers with Sandy McIntosh at the helm. For those feeling new or out of touch, look for Sandy at the next event.
