Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I never gave thought to being anything else other than an attorney from the time I was in elementary school. My teachers, my parents and other adults in my life opined that I should become a lawyer and it never occurred to me to be anything else.

What experiences help you to be a better attorney?
There is no greater incentive in the practice of law than serving your clients and achieving the best results possible.

What made you choose your primary area of law?
As with everything else in an attorney’s life who is engaged in sole practice or in a small practice environment, clients dictate areas of emphasis. In my younger years, I tried many jury trials in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas and elsewhere, but as I have grown older my emphasis has shifted, again because of the direction of my clients, to family law with a secondary emphasis in personal injury law and I've limited my practice to those two areas.

Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I spend the bulk of my off-duty time with my wife Leslie. We enjoy traveling, exercising, and entertaining our friends. I am also an avid reader and movie buff.

Describe your charitable activities.
For many years, I've accepted pro bono legal cases when referred to me by the Columbus Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service as well as the Legal Aid Society. Recently, I began participating with the Interfaith Legal Clinic, which meets once a month to refer clients for pro bono services.
