Recent Tax Legislation and Regulation Update

The Columbus Bar is currently accepting registrations for the Business Tax Committee’s 2007 Tax Update on Tuesday, September 19 from 11:00 – 2:30 p.m. for 3.0 hours of CLE credit. Lunch is sponsored for this event by Hamilton Capital Management. Mr. Nate Hamilton, partner at Schottenstein Zox & Dunn, will address the key provisions of the final I.R.C. Section 409A regulations on nonqualified deferred compensation plans. Mr. Hamilton will discuss the types
of nonqualified plans subject to the new regulations, and the tax consequences for plans that do not comply with the new restrictions.

During the second half of the seminar, Mr. David Krebs, CEO of the Krebs Advisory Group, will review the key provisions of the Pension Protection Act of 2006, the Health Care Act of 2006, and the Small Business and Work Opportunity Act of 2007. A CPA, Mr. Krebs will highlight the important changes to the tax laws and offer tax planning and strategy tips for your individual and business clients.
