What experiences help you to be a better attorney?

Having spent time in another career and some time just getting older, I shared in some of what life has to offer - renting an apartment, buying a house, leasing a car, raising children, planning and balancing a budget, paying down debts, planning for retirement, managing a career and family and still finding time for myself. All of these experiences and more help me to relate to my clients and to better understand their individual needs.

What made you choose your primary area of law?

While I was still in law school I made a conscious decision to concentrate my studies in family law. I knew that was one field where I would have the opportunity to make a very real and tangible difference in people's lives. Even though this area of practice can be emotionally difficult at times, I have a passion for my work.

What makes your law firm unique?

There are a number of qualified domestic relations attorneys in the Columbus area, but I think what sets me apart from my fellow family law practitioners is the depth of my caring for the well being of my client and their family. The litigation process can be very costly and very damaging emotionally. A goal for my practice is to minimize the emotional conflict the best I can and to promote timely settlements whenever possible. Even though this area of practice can be emotionally difficult at times, I have a passion for my work.
