Partnering for Parents: building community for lawyers with families
A special opportunity is offered to lawyers who parent, or more correctly parents who practice law, to gain some new perspectives into the delicate balance between family and practice and to build supportive relationships with colleagues who parent.
The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, the National Association of Women Lawyers and the Columbus Bar invite all attorneys to attend the first luncheon of the Moritz Moms & Dads Lunch Series, featuring a panel discussion entitled “Doing it All: Lawyering and Parenting.”
The panel of attorneys in a variety of work situations will explore strategies for balancing career and family and highlight their best “Tips from the Trenches,” Wednesday, June 20 (11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at the Barrister Club Barrister Club (25 W. 11th Ave.)
Attendees will also have time to meet and mingle with friends and colleagues over indulgent OSU Faculty Club desserts, courtesy of the Columbus Bar New Lawyers committee and Liam, the online source for local attorney and legal information located at www.liamlaw.com.
Support and understanding from colleagues can make a critical difference in managing the stress that accompanies balancing career and family.
If you parent and practice law, consider joining other parents for this discussion and conversation. The registration fee is $15, and includes lunch. Convenient, inexpensive parking is available in the Gateway Garage, accessible off High Street from East 9th and 11th Avenues. To register, go to http://moritzlaw.osu.edu/alumni/events/momsdads, call 614/292.0601 or email brady.1301@osu.edu.
