Minority Clerkship Program celebrates twenty years
~ written by Jason Elliot Boyd, Reunion Committee, Class of 2000
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Columbus Bar’s Minority Clerkship Program and we are looking for “lost souls,” past participants of the program. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this groundbreaking program, the Columbus Bar is holding an Awards Reception and Reunion to recognize the efforts of the employers that have participated in the program during its 20-year history, and allow past MCP participants to come together in fellowship with current participants.
This catered event will be held on the rooftop terrace of the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Columbus from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 20. The awards ceremony will begin promptly at 6 p.m. The 40 current student participants and representatives from over 50 current and former MCP employers will be in attendance. The only thing needed to make this event a complete success is you.
Programs of this nature should be heralded on the occasion of a 20th anniversary; now is the time to honor the longevity and remarkable success of the MCP. Please accept my personal invitation and join me as we celebrate the program that was the starting point of so many of our careers by sending your RSVP to Annette Hudson-Clay at 614/221.4112 or annette@cbalaw.org by June 29, 2007. This event will allow you to reconnect with former classmates, network with your colleagues, and inspire the next generation of lawyers. I look forward to seeing you all on July 20th.
