2007-08 Board of Governors candidates
Nine members of the Columbus Bar selected to run for the Board of Governors and a candidate for the office of secretary/treasurer have been recommended by the Nominations & Elections committee chaired by Past President Sally W. Bloomfield.
Other members of the nominating committee include Aaron L. Granger, Schottenstein Zox & Dunn; Connie M. Greaney, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur; Jameel Turner, Bailey Cavalieri; and Kathleen M. Trafford, Columbus Bar secretary/treasurer.
On the ballot for officer positions are, Nelson E Genshaft, Strip Hoppers Leithart McGrath & Terlecky, for president; Kathleen M. Trafford, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, for president-elect; and Elizabeth J. Watters, Chester Willcox & Saxbe, for secretary/treasurer. Only members who have been elected to at least one full term and currently serving on the Board of Governors are eligible nominees for secretary/treasurer.
Candidates nominated for first terms are Kenneth R. Cookson, Kegler Brown Hill & Ritter; Keith E. Golden, Krupman Golden Meizlish Marks & Busum; Dawn Rae Grauel, Hahn Loeser + Parks; Larry Pliskin, American Health Holdings Inc.; Brent D. Rosenthal, Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs; Anthony M. Sharett, Shumaker Loop & Kendrick; and Kerstin Sjoberg-Witt, Jones Days. Incumbents nominated to run for a second term include Joëlle C. Khouzam, Carlile Patchen & Murphy and Mark C. Petrucci, Morgan & Petrucci.
According to Article VI of the Code of Regulations governing nominations and elections for the Board of Governors, additional eligible members may be nominated for a seat on the Board. A petition must be delivered to the Columbus Bar Association no later than noon on Monday, April 30, signed by at least ten voting members of the Columbus Bar whose dues for the current fiscal year are paid.
Ballots will be mailed to all voting members of the Association on May 4 and must be returned by noon on May 18.
