National speakers & new lower price
Last year, members of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers heard an innovative and timely presentation by jury consultant Ann Greeley of Decision Quest, who focused on the impact of differences of race, gender, litigation team dynamics and case issue dynamics in the courtroom. Her presentation received rave reviews from the attendees.
On Friday, March 9 she will speak at “Race and Gender in Trial Practice” being held jointly with the Columbus Bar at our offices from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for 4.25 hours of CLE credit.
The afternoon session includes another jury consultant, Harvey Moore, Ph.D., of Trial Practices, Inc., from Tampa, Florida, on the complexion of the courtroom and how it is changing.
Another outstanding national speaker and impressive trial lawyer, Staci Yandle, ATLA Women's Caucus Chair and past ATLA Minority Caucus Chair from Illinois, will address issues of voir dire when ethnic or gender bias is a concern. This is a crucial topic for selecting a jury that will be fair and impartial for your next trial.
Other issues on this timely CLE agenda include the proposed employment discrimination bill (limiting damages and other access to courts for victims), motion handling and the changing complexion of juries.
Lunch will be provided for those pre-registered and will feature a gathering with invited Ohio judges. Registration for this event is through the Columbus Bar. All litigation attorneys, judges, magistrates and anyone representing individuals with diverse ethnic backgrounds will profit from this seminar.
