Planning ahead or playing catch up?
If December found you with no time to complete your CLE requirements or if you are planning ahead for 2006, you can meet your ethics, professionalism and substance abuse requirements with a video replay on three dates this spring: March 31 from 9:00 to 11:45 a.m., April 13 from 1:30 to 4:15 p.m., and April 28 from 9:00 to 11:45 a.m.
"The Supreme Court is Moving Your Cheese: Don't Be the Last Rat In the Pack to Find the New Location" examines the very law of lawyering itself - which is about to change in Ohio with the adoption of the newest version of the ABA Model Rules to replace the old Code. Be au courant; get the first slice. Savor the Brie; don't get stuck with the Velveeta.
The panel of lawyers and jurists from the Supreme Court Commission that drafted Ohio's new Rules discusses this dramatic change and its impact on ethics and professionalism. How to run in the new maze? What's the same but relocated? Why the changes? Where are the traps?
To round out the program, a representative of Ohio Lawyer's Assistance Program will give you new slants on the psychological and addictive issues lawyers face today.
Join speakers Hon. Peggy L. Bryant, Tenth District Court of Appeals; Deborah A. Coleman, Hahn Loeser + Parks; Jonathan E. Coughlan, Disciplinary Counsel of the Supreme Court of Ohio; Richard A. Dove, Director of Policy & Programs, Supreme Court of Ohio; Eugene P. Long, Prosecutor, Pickaway County; and G. Ross Bridgman, Vorys Sater Seymour and Pease to earn 1.0 ethics, 1.0 professionalism, and 0.5 substance abuse hours to fulfill the entire Rule X requirement.
