Health benefit can ward off top killer
Most people think a woman's most serious health threat is breast cancer. Yet heart and vascular disease (such as stroke) is the number one killer of both men and women, according to the American Heart Association. To help our members identify and treat some of the factors that lead to these cardiovascular diseases, the Columbus Bar has partnered with HealthWISE, to offer a program of cardiovascular testing to scan the heart and other vascular areas for signs of premature cardiovascular disease.
Members can now take advantage of several discounted services that may compliment the coverage provided at their individual firms. In addition to comprehensive cardiovascular risk assessment, other issues such as lung cancer, colon cancer, and osteoporosis can be evaluated. These benefits include a $75 body fat analysis; a $150 bone scan for osteoporosis; a $200 lung scan; a $250 heart scan to predict cardiac risk; a $525 full vascular scan, which includes all of the above procedures and more; and a $680 non-invasive, "virtual colonoscopy" screening test for color cancer.
