New benefits serve members’ health, family & career needs

Practicing law can be extremely stressful. Looming deadlines, demanding clients and pending social obligations all vie for a lawyer's time. Several new Columbus Bar member benefits will help lawyers kick off the New Year on a healthy, less stressful note. The benefits include:

HealthWISE - A program offering cardiovascular testing to refine personal risk by scanning the heart/vascular system for cardiovascular disease. Additionally, risks for lung cancer, colon cancer and osteoporosis can be directly determined. Members are offered several discounted services that may compliment the coverage provided at their individual firms, including: a body fat analysis (which defines risk for diabetes and hypertension) for $75; a bone scan for osteoporosis for $150; a lung scan for $200; a heart scan to predict cardiac risk for $250; a full vascular scan, which includes all of the above procedures and more, for $525; and a non-invasive, "virtual colonoscopy" screening test for color cancer for $680.

Angie's List - An online network of homeowners who share information about local service companies so consumers receive excellent service from providers they can trust. Members may join as a new member for $30 a year, a $21 savings compared to a regular subscription, and current members also receive a $5 discount on their annual renewal.

Circle of Business - An Action for Children program that helps people balance work and family. Members can receive: work/life wellness seminars; the Art of Positive Parenting seminars; elder care seminars; and trend reports and tip of the month e-newsletters.

Complete Lawyer - An electronic publication that focuses on the personal and professional development of lawyers. Contributors are veteran coaches, consultants, authors and innovators who work with lawyers; many are also lawyers themselves. The Columbus Bar will e-mail this publication to members at no cost.

Office Depot - One of the largest providers of office products and services. Members will receive highly competitive pricing, significant customer service commitments and a web-based ordering process. The online system will store members' frequently ordered items to streamline the ordering process.
