Helping clients create wealth
Intellectual property is an essential asset of businesses in the current competitive global marketplace. In order to help clients to leverage their intellectual property into commercial advantage, counsels to businesses need to know about basic issues surrounding intellectual property.
On Friday, Nov. 10, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., Dane C. Butzer and Yimei Chen of Butzer & Chen Law will present “Intellectual Property: Helping Your Clients Create Wealth.” This course is designed for non-experts and general practitioners to help with the issues of patent, trade secret, trademark and copyright law.
By the end of the program, attendees will understand the basic requirements and scope of these intellectual property rights; be able to advise clients as to how to protect their intellectual property rights; recognize how and when that intellectual property can benefit clients; manage related legal risks; and know when to seek advice from expert intellectual property counsel. Tax and general business attorneys, in-house counsel for small to medium-sized businesses, and financial advisors would benefit from attendance.
