Civil War meetings
~ written by Harold Paddock
Our November speaker will be Gary Cox, who in one presentation will discuss not one, not two, but seven battles: the Seven Days Around Richmond. Cox will speak at noon on Nov. 10 at the Columbus Bar offices on this crucial campaign early in the Civil War, a campaign that besides other things brought General Robert E. Lee to command of the Army of Northern Virginia.
Our December speaker will be our “highest ranking” presenter yet, Hon. Alan E. Norris, Senior Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Judge Norris will speak about “On the Trail of Bobby Lee, From Fredericksburg to Gettysburg, June of 1863.” Judge Norris will trace the march of all three Confederate corps and discuss the surprises he has discovered in his research. Please make plans to join us for this meeting on Dec. 15 at noon.
As always, our meetings are open to your partners, associates, clerks, friends and others who share our interest in the Civl War.
