Bankruptcy Law Institute - May 4 & 5
President Bush signed the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 ("BAPCPA") into law on April 20, 2005. BAPCPA became effective on October 17, 2005 and made significant additions and amendments to the Federal Bankruptcy Code. BAPCPA is causing everyone involved with bankruptcy proceedings to change their course of practice. BAPCPA has placed new and evolving duties on bankruptcy judges, debtors, debtors' attorneys, trustees, domestic support creditors and creditors' attorneys.
The Bankruptcy Law Institute scheduled for May 4 and 5, provides a way for practitioners to obtain practical information regarding life after BAPCPA. This two-day seminar will feature Hon. Donald E. Calhoun Jr., Hon. Charles M. Caldwell, Hon. John E. Hoffman Jr., Hon. Kathryn C. Preston, and Hon. Russ Kendig. Breakout sessions for consumer and commercial practitioners will also be featured.
