Ohio Uniform Trust Code: familiarize yourself with the new provisions
The Columbus Bar will present a half-day seminar on the Ohio Uniform Trust Code on Oct. 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Ohio Trust Code (OTC), with an effective date of January 1, 2007, is part of newly created Title 58 of the Revised Code which is dedicated entirely to trusts. This seminar is a must for attorneys practicing in the areas of estate planning, trust & probate law, trust officers and paralegals.
The trust code will be covered from the perspectives of the probate court, drafter, trustee and beneficiary. Franklin County Probate Court Judge Lawrence A. Belskis will address the probate court’s perspective, while Thomas J. Bonasera, Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs, will present the drafting attorney’s perspective. Damon P. Muldoon, Fifth Third Bank, will provide the trustee’s perspective, and Christopher D. Fidler, Baker & Hostetler, will complete the program with the beneficiary’s perspective.
