Judge Brown to speak at Columbus Bar

Franklin County Court of Appeals Judge Susan Brown is the guest speaker for the Government Agencies committee meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 at noon at the Columbus Bar offices. She will speak on court of appeals practice.

Judge Brown was first elected to the appellate bench in 1998 and re-elected in 2004. Prior to the appellate bench, Judge Brown served four years as a Franklin County Common Pleas Judge in the Domestic Relations and Juvenile Courts. In 1997 she formed the Franklin County Juvenile Gun Task Force in an effort to reduce juvenile gun violence. Prior to serving on the bench, she was engaged in the private practice of law for approximately ten years. At the same time, she was a commissioner at the Ohio Court of Claims deciding cases involving victims of crime.
