Foundation Gala raises $68,000 for Project Dignity
Attendees to the Fifth Annual Columbus Bar Foundation Gala on Feb. 11 took a step back in time and enjoyed a glamorous evening reminiscent of a 1930s supper club. The spectacular event raised $68,000 for the Legal Aid Society of Columbus's Project Dignity. The salaries of three attorneys and two paralegals solely committed to Project Dignity are funded by a five year commitment from the Foundation and Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence. As a result, Legal Aid opens over 650 domestic violence cases a year which illustrates the depth of commitment to this very important project.
The black tie affair held at the Hyatt Regency was attended by more than 250 legal and community leaders. Angela Pace of WBNS-10 TV was the emcee for the evening, and President Sally Bloomfield welcomed the attendees and acknowledged the outstanding support we received for the Gala and Project Dignity. Columbus Bar Foundation President Doug Wrightsel provided background on the Foundation's many successful initiatives.
Entertainment was provided by Mike Rayburn, "The World's Funniest Guitar Virtuoso!"
A classically-trained guitarist, Mike charmed the crowd by performing well-known songs as different artists for a unique and hilarious musical perspective. With his skilled mimicry and beautiful instrumental playing, he was the highlight of a dazzling evening.
The sophisticated decorations were provided by Lasting Impressions, which contributed tremendously to the ambiance of the evening. It was a special night for a special cause - and it couldn't have happened without our many supporters and sponsors. Thank you.
