OSU Moritz to use Reflections on Life and the Law
~ written by Biru Chen, Columbus Bar Communications Intern
Earlier this summer, the Columbus Bar published Reflections on Life and the Law: Wit and Wisdom from Columbus Bar Association Attorneys, a collection of stories and lessons written by fifty attorneys from all walks of life. The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law recently purchased 250 copies of this book and plans to give a copy to each and every incoming law student during orientation this fall.
Moritz College of Law Senior Assistant Dean Robert L. Solomon said this book will give new law students invaluable insight into the practice of law. He is the also the author of a story in the book, “Politics, Reporters and Professionalism.”
“Our goal is to expose students to the real life of law,” he said. “It is easy to just stick to theories, but these stories provide the reality of law to students.
Dean Solomon said this book will also help new law students gain perspective on the practice of law.
“Practicing law is not just about learning rules, but also important is working with other people, developing interpersonal skills, improving work ethic and overcoming obstacles,” he said.
