Sixth "23rd Annual" Carlile Patchen & Murphy Velvet Ride
~ written by Leon Friedberg
The Sixth "23rd Annual" Carlile Patchen & Murphy Velvet Ride is scheduled for Sunday (not Saturday) Aug. 27 beginning at 1:00 p.m. (after lunch). We continue with a Sunday date to open up the scheduling opportunity for riders who have Saturday conflicts.
This year's destination will be the beautiful and exotic Young's Jersey Dairy, 6880 Springfield-Xenia Road, Highway 68, Yellow Springs. I have iron-clad warranties that the weather will be wonderful on Aug. 27. For a review of Young's Dairy (although I suspect the prices may have changed a bit), see www.roadfood.com/Reviews/overview.aspx?RefID=525, or visit the Young's website, www.youngsdairy.com.
We will meet at the CPM parking lot, 366 E. Broad St. (Grant and Broad), at 1:00 p.m. and head out by 1:25 p.m. Please be sure to top off your tanks before we leave. There is a BP station about 1/2 mile east on Broad Street.
Remember, the 23rd Annual CPM Velvet Ride is open to Central Ohio lawyers, judges, staff, clients and friends (and their co-riders, of course). No pending cases or client matters are open for discussion, but bragging about your bike or the latest chrome doo-dad, your children and such is strongly encouraged.
Hope to see you Sunday. Please let me know at LF@cpmlaw.com if you plan on attending.
PS: Notwithstanding warranties about the weather on Aug. 27, we will hold Sunday, Sept. 10, 1:00 p.m., open as the weather back-up day just in case.
