Franklin County Law Library Moving March 6
The Franklin County Law Library will be closed on Wednesday, February 29th through Monday, March 5th, and will open at its new location on the sixth floor of 375 South High St. on Tuesday, March 6 at 8:00am. The new law library telephone number will be 614/525.4971 effective March 6th. The fax number will be 614/525.4978.
New Supreme Court Rule, Effective 3/1/12
The Supreme Court of Ohio adopted a new rule designed to ensure the prompt and unambiguous enforceability of protection orders or conflicts between protection orders and orders granting parental rights and responsibilities. The rule becomes effective on March 1.

'Legal Rebel' to Present at Columbus Bar CLE
Lawyer, author, editor, public relations advocate, coach, consultant, teacher, trainer. Sounds like a team. In truth, it is a team of one. J. Kim Wright, named a legal rebel by the ABA, wears many hats.
She will be donning the one she wears as a leader of the integrative law movement focused on collaboration, problem-solving, peacemaking and healing conflict when she comes to the Columbus Bar, March 16. Ms. Wright will present a 4.0 hour CLE, 8:30am to 12:45pm, entitled “Lawyers as Peacemakers: Integrity, Purpose and Values in the New Paradigm of Law Practice.”

Apply for Ohio's Workplace Wellness Grant
Willis works with one of the few approved wellness vendors for the program below, and can help implement a turnkey wellness program that contains all of the required elements. Discounted pricing is available for this vendor through Willis.
Employers wanting to improve the health and wellness of their workers can benefit from the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation's Workplace Wellness Grant Program (WWGP). It provides funding to assist employers in establishing training and programs to reduce health risk factors specific to their employees.
Workplace Wellness Grants will be made available to all eligible state-funded employers in Ohio with applications being reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. The Bureau of Workers Compensation has allocated a total of $4 million in grant money.

Free Online Courses: Topics in Digital Law Practice
For those interested in learning more about digital law practice, the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI), is providing a free 9-week online course focused on the changes that are occurring in the legal practice.
Each Friday at 2:00pm, between February 10 and April 6, a guest speaker will present a 30-minute presentation on a different component of digital law, from virtual law firms to online research to social media.

Martin Luther King Jr., Celebration
On January 31, 2012, Columbus Bar held its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at COSI giving members and guests the opportunity to enjoy a private showing of the nationally acclaimed exhibit, RACE: Are We So Different? The exhibit, which explores the similarities and differences among people and explains the realities of race, is at COSI until May 6. The Bar event also presented a panel discussion on the changing landscape of the legal community.
