Jameel Turner Named CBA Board Member

At the June 17 meeting of the Columbus Bar Association Board of Governors, Jameel S. Turner was selected to fill the unfinished term of Mark Petrucci, who was recently elected Secretary-Treasurer.

Mr. Turner is an Associate at Bailey Cavalieri LLC and is Editor of Better Lawyer, a Columbus Bar publication for new attorneys.

IOLTA Scam Still Making Rounds

The Supreme Court of Ohio issued a warning today about an Internet scam continuing to affect Ohio lawyers. This latest email scam is similar to previous ones about which the Supreme Court has warned attorneys, according to Amy C. Stone, Assistant Disciplinary Counsel with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.

Survey Says: Many Employers Anticipate Increased Hiring in Third Quarter

ManpowerGroup has released its 3rd quarter 2011 Employment Outlook Survey results. The survey seeks to determine whether employers will increase or decrease hiring (or maintain current employment levels) between July and September 2011.

Local Paralegals and Attorneys Help Seniors with Wills and Other Legal Documents

Wills Clinics PACO (Paralegal Association of Central Ohio) and Columbus Bar members were featured in a June 20 Columbus Dispatch article. The paralegals and attorneys featured are volunteers in a pro bono effort that provides wills and other legal documents to senior citizens.
