Big Changes Coming at 175 S. Third St.
The Columbus Bar is very excited about planned improvements to our building at 175 S. Third St., including the installation of a coffee shop and cafe on the first floor, and a renovated lobby area. Work will begin on the Park side of the building in the next 30 days, and to give you a vision of what is planned, see the renderings below. The construction should be completed sometime during June/July.
Java Jan's Gourmet Coffee
Java Jan is a small, family-owned coffee shop, and the new location will be located on the Park side of our building on the first
floor. Currently, you can find Java Jan in the 2nd floor atrium, overlooking the front entrance of the building. They're very
friendly and serve coffee and all the trimmings from 7:00am to 2:00pm on weekdays. Java Jan also owns a coffee shop in Dublin.
Please stop by the 2nd floor the next time you are in the building.
Third Street Cafe
The "Third Street Cafe" is another concept that is being planned for the first floor space of 175 S. Third St. The owners of the
building are working with a few different companies trying to make this a reality.
Columbus Commons is in Our Backyard
Columbus Commons is a premier urban park, created to simultaneously enliven the downtown neighborhood and offer a green, urban
oasis. When the park opens Memorial Day weekend 2011, it will be a 9-acre green space with world-class flower gardens, grand lawns,
walking paths and a Bosque of Trees that includes an Outdoor Reading Room, Café and Restroom Buildings, a Children’s Carousel, and
moveable tables and chairs.
A new downtown Farmer’s Market will open in the Columbus Commons this summer. Presented by the Harmony Project, Columbus Commons
Market will operate each Wednesday, June 1 through August 31, 2011 from 10:30am to 2:00pm. Live entertainment is scheduled for each
market day in partnership with CAPA.
